ARTICLE IV. Church Delegates
Section 1. Delegates in General. Church delegates are representatives to meetings of the Merrimack Association and the New Hampshire Conference, United Church of Christ. The number of delegates is determined by the bylaws of the Merrimack Association and the New Hampshire Conference, U.C.C. In the event a delegate cannot attend an Association or Conference meeting, Council shall appoint a substitute for that meeting.
Section 2. Delegates to Merrimack Association, United Church of Christ.
A. Terms of Office. Two Church delegates shall be elected at annual meeting for a term of one year; may serve for three consecutive terms; shall be eligible for re-election after a one-year interval.
B. Responsibilities. The Church delegates shall represent the Church at semi-annual and annual meetings of the Merrimack Association, U.C.C.; shall organize at the Church informational meetings on Association issues.
Section 3. Delegates to New Hampshire Conference, United Church of Christ
A. Terms of Office. Church delegates, (currently four) shall be elected at annual meeting for a term of one year; may serve for three consecutive terms; shall be eligible for re-election after a one-year interval. One delegate shall be 25 years of age or younger.
B. Responsibilities. The Church delegates shall represent the Church at the annual meeting of the New Hampshire Conference, U.C.C.; shall organize at the Church informational meetings on Conference issues in the month prior to the Conference meeting; shall make a report to the Church after the Conference meeting.
